I’m so honored you are here and are taking the time to get to know me. I can’t wait to get to know you too! My name is Susie Larson, and I founded Barter West for you, the business owner.
I grew up a middle-class farm girl. I say middle class because both my parents had jobs, and farm girl because we had 12 acres, and raised a small herd of show cattle. Yes, I showed cattle, and was blessed with being Limousin queen with a crown on my cowboy hat when I was 17. It was a wonderful childhood.
My family valued education because they grew up when America was booming. The educational system, schools, colleges, and many parents like mine taught my generation, “go to school, get an education, and you’ll be fine.”
I hold a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences, and a Master of Arts in Education. I worked in the barter industry in the early 90’s. I have also worked in tele-communications, banking, and of course education.
This path never felt “fine.” Something inside me knew there had to be something more, something better. So, I started seeking other options. It became clear that entrepreneurship was the only way to the freedom I desired. I started my journey as an entrepreneur in 2007.
In 2011, while doing a booth at an expo for my chocolate business, I stumbled onto dōTERRA. I switched gears and built a successful business, Jonti Life, in the most challenging industry that exists-- network marketing. I created the freedom that has enabled me to work from home and homeschool my kids, even as a single mom.
